York is a beach town near the southern tip of the state on the Gulf of Maine. York has been a trailblazer in environmental initiatives, being one of the first towns to implement plastics and polystyrene bans. The Town of York is a proud member of the Global Covenant of Mayors and is currently working on the goals listed in their Climate Action Plan.
