The purpose of the Sipayik Resilience Committee is to build the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point’s internal capacity to facilitate community resilience and energy projects that were prioritized during the Sipayik Resilience Meeting in August 2022. Priorities included weatherization, heat pumps, and renewable energy. We are beginning with weatherization and are conducting a window insert building workshop to weatherize homes in Pleasant Point in Fall 2023. For more information about the Window Insert Build, see the “Sipayik Weatherization” tab. The SRC was formed in 2022 with funding from the State of Maine’s Community Resilience Partnership.
